Cecelia Nell Habrle, 90, passed away on April 7, 2025, at home in Conway, AR. She was born May 19, 1934, to Robert Fly and Nellie Robinson at St. Vincents Hospital in Little Rock, AR. She grew up next to the State Capitol in Little Rock, AR. Raised by her father, her mother passed away when Cecelia was 9 years old. Friends, family and the community wrapped their arms around Ceceila and her father during that difficult time. With a loving heart, the local doctor, nurse, and dentist made sure Cecelia and her father’s needs were met. She was well taken care of and loved dearly. As a teenager living in downtown in Little Rock she would ride the trolley to shop and spend time with friends. Living near a railroad track, she witnessed her father providing small jobs and a hot meal to men searching for jobs during the great depression. Her father was a great example of how to treat people. At age 18 she married and had three children, Aleta, Greg and Bruce. She raised them by herself. She provided for her family by working for a television company, then she became a long-distance switchboard operator where the supervisor’s road around on roller skates making sure everyone was doing their job. She later retired from AT&T. While working as an operator for the telephone company she became a Beautician, a Cosmetology Board Member, and instructor. While working in a Salon her customers would say “Make me beautiful”, Cecelia would reply,” I am a beautician, not a magician.” Clients would say, make me beautiful. She would say I am a beautician not a magician. She later remarried, Richard Habrle and had one son, Daryl Harble. She was a Bible Fellowship Leader for the children in North little Rock. After moving to Vilonia, she became a member of First Baptist Church in Vilonia. She opened her own beauty shop between Vilonia and Conway and served the community for many years. Later she moved to Conway and became a member Second Baptist Church of Conway. She had a servant’s heart. She loved Jesus. Her last breath she was singing hymns about Jesus. A game she played with all her children, she named, Hit parade. They all faithfully played every day. She would call all three children, hum a tune, and all the kids would start singing the song. Cecelia was an avid reader and read mystery books. She always had books checked out of the library. Infact, the kids must return books to this day. Weather permitting, she enjoyed walking and was very active. She gave her children final instructions, be good to people and trust in God and you will be alright. If there is someone in need and you can help, do it. Cecelia told her daughter, Aleta, “Be good to your brothers, and they will be good to you.” Follow the footsteps of Jesus.
