Carolyn Bridges Gill, 90, of Knoxville, Tennessee, formerly of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away March 14, 2024. She was born October 19, 1933 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Charles and Viva Patman Bridges. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John C. Gill; stepson, John H. Gill; and brother-in-laws, Jim Carman and John Burkett.
Carolyn found solace and joy in the beauty of the natural world and the intricacies of art. An avid lover of flowers, she found inspiration in their delicate blooms, nurturing gardens that flourished with vibrant colors and fragrant blossoms. Carolyn's artistic spirit found expression through painting, where she captured the essence of nature's beauty with each brushstroke. Carolyn immersed herself in the realms of literature, business, and family history. Carolyn's love for reading and research enriched her understanding of the world and her own heritage, fostering connections and preserving cherished memories for future generations. One of her favorite memories was riding in a yellow Model “A” convertible with her sister, Charlene. Carolyn also delighted in travelling and experiencing the wonders of different cultures. Yet, amidst her worldly adventures, her greatest joy was found in the simple pleasures of spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchild, whose laughter and love brought light to her days.
Those left to cherish the memories of Carolyn include her stepchildren, Greg Gill, Mark (Sharon Langley) Gill, and Melissa (Phil Chaney) Galliani; grandchildren, Kristin (Josh) Smith, Alex Gill, Thomas Gill, Ryan Gill, Mark (Tommi Sharp) Gill, Lyndsey Gill, Rachel (David) Orlando, and Claudia Galliani; great-grandson, Julian Gill; and sibling, Charlene Bridges Carman Burkett.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Griffin-Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, beginning at 9:00 a.m. After the service, Carolyn will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock
