Annie Laura Chaney, a native of Gonzales Louisiana, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2017 surrounded by her family. Annie moved many different places, made many friends and had many stories to tell of her travels. She was a full time mom, before becoming part of the Dignity family and taking care of the funeral home, which she thoroughly enjoyed. In her spare time, she was very involved with the VFW and American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. Annie was a loving mother, Granny Annie to her grandchildren, and sister and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Annie is survived by her children, Mark Hamilton, Lisa Hamilton, Brian Hamilton and wife Mary, Stephanie King and husband Bryan; daughter in law, Kristi Hamilton; siblings, Nell Martin and Lloyd “Sonny” Mayers; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Annie Mayers; and her son, Jenson Hamilton. A Memorial gathering will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales on Saturday, March 24, 2017 from 5-8pm.
