Sibyl Packer

Sibyl Packer (Grammy) 90, of Weston, Florida, passed away on November 18, 2022 after a long battle with Cancer.

Sibyl was born on August 10th, 1932, to Jacob & Rena Moskowitz in Buffalo, N.Y. Sibyl studied music with a Major in Piano at The State University of New York at Fredonia Teachers College. Sibyl met Sumner Packer in Boston, Massachusetts, and they wed in 1957 (65 years), and had four children, Howard Packer (Vivian), Rachel Packer Key (Kimber)- both deceased, Liz Packer (Rosalie), Shari Clifford (Bruce), three grandchildren, Katie Packer Lencioni (Michael), Michael Packer (Holli), Brooke Clifford Yambalakian (David), and three great grandchildren, Charlotte and Joshua Lencioni, and Daniel Yambalakian. Sibyl is also survived by her older sister, Alfreda Mastman of Saratoga California, and her Sister-in-law, Faith Kramer of Salem Massachusetts, as well as their extended families. Sibyl served as President of the Natick, MA chapter of ORT. She taught music in various high schools in New York and New England and prided herself in giving private piano lessons. After retiring from teaching and moving to Florida, Sibyl went on to fulfill her passion for knitting by opening "Sibyl's Yarn Boutique" (this helped to support her desire to knit). Sibyl then moved on to pursue her love for travel by becoming a Travel Agent (Cruise Specialist), better known as “Kruiseldy”, she traveled the world! Sibyl loved playing Mahjong with her closest friends. When she wasn't playing "Mahj" you could always find her knitting at least two or three projects at a time. Nobody could tell a story like Sibyl, her memory and attention to details was one of her perfected talents. Sibyl's greatest loves of her life were her husband, Sumner, her four children, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and all their spouses, along with her nieces, nephews, cousins, and their extended families. Sibyl had a gift of making life-long friends. She will be missed by all the lives that she has touched, especially "Chicos" clothing boutique. There will be a funeral service held at 2:45 PM on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Star of David Memorial Gardens, 7701 Bailey Road, North Lauderdale, FL 33068 / (954) 722-9000. Shiva will be held at Sibyl's son's home in Cooper City directly after the service and for two days to follow 11 a.m. - 8 p.m..
