Friends and family best remember Ron for his larger-than-life spirit and personality. He found humor in nearly every situation and was always the life of the party.
Ron served his country from 1954-1956, and before retiring in his late 70s, Ron was the CEO of home health care agencies in the Miami and Fort Lauderdale areas. However, he had reinvented himself several times throughout his lifetime with prior careers as an advertising executive, real estate agent, developer, and owner/operator of two children’s daycare centers.
Ron served as President of Temple Beth Israel from 1975 through 1977 and remained active in Broward’s Jewish community for many years.
He was an avid golfer, tennis, and baseball player and will be missed by his many friends in New York, Florida and North Carolina. Ron was a world traveler. He explored the world with his wife Joan.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joan, sister Maxine Schwartz, daughters Ellen Kennedy and Mindy Haber, and grandchildren Hali and Ethan Haber and Corryn (Cory) Kennedy.
Services will be Thursday, September 19th at 10:15 a.m. at the Star of David Memorial Chapel, 7701 Bailey Road in North Lauderdale. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your favorite charities, with the exception of the NRA or political campaigns.
