Oreste ́ LaFontant, affectionately known as “Ti Frère” (meaning little brother) although he was the oldest, was born on January 24, 1961 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Oreste ́ graduated from Lyce ́e Touissaint Louveture in Haiti, prior to coming to the states in 1978.
He believed in working hard and demonstrated this by going to school by day and working full time by night. He even chose to earn an additional high school diploma in America, although not necessary, before going on to receive a Bachelor’s in Computer Science.
His first job here was at Casa Vechia Restaurant on the beach. However, he was a very bright individual who went on to become a certified Microsoft Professional. His love of computers led him on a journey around the world as a computer science technician in 1987.
Oreste ́ chose to follow Christ and was baptized as an adult. He fell in love with the Word so much that he also had decided to commence studies in theology. His strong work ethic and strive for further success led him to venture into the world of entrepreneurship and established his own business in 1989, and then again in 2010 as a Tax Practitioner.
He received the name “Rusty” from his wife of 30 years, Berneil Shelton, due to being the closest way to pronounce his name in English. He was a loving father to a total of four kids, including his step children whom he accepted and raised as his own.
Despite becoming a double amputee after a severe car accident in 2001, he remained the life of every party and the comedian in the family.
The Lord decided to call Guerrianne’s beloved son home on Sunday, February 5, 2017.
He is survived by his loving family and a host of friends
