John was raised in both St. James and Hanover; he attended Albino All Age School.
He later relocated to Kingston where he received vocational training as a welder/auto-repairman, going from an apprentice to mastering his skills, which resulting in him owning his own auto-repair business. In 1969 he met Leonie who he later married. John and his family migrated to the United States in the 1980s, where they lived in Brooklyn, New York.
John was employed by ABC Body and Trailer Company in Brooklyn where he repaired trailers until he retired in 2015. In 2016, John and his family made the decision to relocate to Boynton Beach, Florida.
John was an extrovert who loved to be in the company of family and friends. John was extremely kind and would give his last dollar, if he believed the person needed it more. John was an excellent provider and protector of family and friends, who worked tirelessly to ensure the well-being of others. He enjoyed playing games such as dominoes, poker, chess. He enjoyed showing off his cooking skills. He also loved fishing and watching action/western movies. Unfortunately, his allotted time to enjoy his new home was shortened by illness, to which he later succumbed.
John is survived by his wife Leonie, four children: Mark, Erica, Merrick and Jheanell and two step sons, Rodcliffe and Richard; Six grandchildren: KaShawn, KaShain, Starasia, Cornelius, Kyle and Hannah; and three step grandchildren: Stephen, Rachelle and Amanda. John is also survived by his seven (7) brothers: Renford, Canute, Keith, Carl, Desmond, Baldwin and Elseworth and eight (8) sisters: Evadne, Claudia, Paulette, Rosemary, Alma, Maxine, Joy and Jean, and hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Sybil Foster, Father Merrick Williams, sister Patricia, brother Kirkland and grandchild Marquan Williams.
