Janet Wohl

Janet Sarah Claire Blumenfeld Wohl most recently of Watchung NJ, passed away peacefully in hospice on November 14, 2022. Janet was born in Cleveland Ohio on July 11, 1930, to Dave and Fannie Blumenfeld and grew up in The Bronx NY with her brother Walter. On a Memorial Day weekend visit to the Catskills, she met Seymour Wohl on a blind date and was married on November 13, 1949.

Janet and Seymour began their life together in South Fallsburg NY where they raised their four children, Bonnie, Kevin, Anne, and Russell. Janet loved entertaining and was known for her elaborate dinner parties. She was an amazing cook and baker. Scrabble, Bridge, Poker, and other games were the activities she enjoyed with her family and friends. Janet and Seymour later moved to Florida after they retired from the restaurant business.

Janet was predeceased by her husband Seymour in 2004 and is survived by her children, Bonnie Wohl, Kevin Wohl and his wife Nan, Anne and her husband Frank Reemer, Russell Wohl and his wife Beth as well as Bonnie’s children, Carin Scheinin and Jeff Scheinin, Kevin’s children, Jason and Spencer Wohl, Anne and Frank’s daughter, Marni Reemer and Russell and Beth’s children, Caroline, Robert and, Christopher Wohl. Janet is also survived by her brother Walt and his wife Freddie, her five great-grandchildren, Logan, Maria, Emilia, Nora, and Cole along with many loving nieces and nephews.

A graveside, service for Janet will be held Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 10:00 am at Star of David Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Chapel, 7701 Bailey Road, North Lauderdale, FL 33068.

The family will be sitting Shiva on Monday, November 21 at the Reemer’s 330 Strawtown Rd. New City, NY 3:00-8:00 pm.
