Fred was such a professional and good friend. 

Professionally, many people do not know he was an international leader in working with titans of the information technology industry such as IBM in the early years to help them and help companies using their software and computers to build internal controls into their software and hardware to make it better. Before information security, integrity, availability  and privacy were even being considered, Fred was alerting software designers of the features needed to make it work better. We will never forget his contribution.

On a personal level, Fred took the time to reach out and make calls to stay in touch. I enjoyed these times where we would brainstorm about things like new technology, writing articles and books, integrated auditing, and just life in general. His semi-annual were events were deep-dive sessions we looked forward to, prepared for, and thoroughly enjoyed. He brought terrific speakers who showed us things we would later see deployed in our employer’s company two years later — so Fred was very advanced in his thinking about tech. 

Fred loved his family and talked about their accomplishments proudly. He seemed to be a terrific husband, father, and grandfather. He was a forward-thinking, cigar-smoking leader in all things tech. He is already sorely missed by many!!
