Anita Fractor grew up in Brooklyn, New York where she attended Lafayette High School and Brooklyn College where she graduated with a degree in childhood education. She married Donald Fischer in 1957 and they lived in Queens, NY where their daughters, Karen and Jenifer, were born. After moving to Cleveland in 1965, their son, Eric, was born. Anita was a real estate agent, Hebrew School teacher and avid tennis player. She was involved in many charitable and Jewish organizations including Women’s American ORT and Mizrachi Women’s Organization. Upon relocating to Florida in 1980, she continued her active lifestyle playing tennis and mah jongg multiple times per week, participating in the Coral Springs Garden Club, attending the orchestra and ballet, and traveling the world with her husband. That love for adventure and cultural experiences as well as checking out (and critiquing) the latest travel destinations, hotels and restaurants led to her becoming a travel agent and planning amazing adventures for her clients. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her six grandchildren and great-grandson. She was a loving and fun grandma always available for babysitting, a home cooked Shabbat dinner, or a trip to a kid friendly destination. Donations can be made to any of her favorite charities including the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, multiple Macular Degeneration organizations and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
