Abraham Kaplan, better known as Al Kaplan, aged 94, of Bridgeport Connecticut by way of Brooklyn and Fort Lauderdale, departed this world on Saturday, August 17, 2024, due to heart failure. He was born to Pincus Kaplan and Anna (Chaskin) of Brooklyn.
Al is predeceased by his wife, Sylvia (2016), his siblings, Blanche, Renee, Ada, and Howard. He is survived by his daughter, Michelle Ognjanovic, his sons Howard and Ira Kaplan, their partners/spouses George Ognjanovic, Julie Edelson, and Susan Kaplan. And by four grandchildren—Janna, Jason, Emily, and Amy, and a great-grandchild, Jack (Jason and Joanna’s).
Al will be remembered for his love of family, and his engaging personality. He persevered as an entrepreneur within his community; was a good husband, family member and friend; and for many seasons could tell you the spread on every NFL game on Sunday.
Al's funeral is on Thursday, August 22 at 10:30 AM in Florida.
