Xavier Lee Shelby was born on March 16, 1992 to the parents of Walter Shelby and Joe Ann Smith. Xavier was born at Red Lands Community Hospital. His father, Walter Shelby, Jr. raised all three sons with the help of Xavier; niece, Leadrian Thompson; and Xavier’s auntie, who in his heart was also his mom, Doris Jean Taylor who preceded him in death. At the age of six years old, his stepmother, Rashunda Shelby, came into his life and he loved her so much she wasn’t just his mom, she was his friend. Rashunda always told him she loved him and that she was proud of him. Xavier went to Mariposa Elementary; Cobalt Middle School; Redlands High School; and Silverado High School. Xavier worked in North Hollywood, California and he was very dedicated to this job. Xavier loved kids very much, loved to sing, and was a natural born comedian. Everybody knew him by the name of “X.” His grandmother, Dorothy Jean Smith, and two grandfathers; Floyd Whittaker and Charles Collins preceded him in death. He will be missed by his family and a host of friends.
