After her birth she moved to Ellwood City spending her childhood years with Family and friends. Tanya moved to South Los Angeles from Ellwood City, PA in 1979, at age 13. Even though Tanya was new to the area, she didn’t let that stop her from being the outgoing and kind-spirited person that would carry her through life. At the age of 13, she attended school at Foshay Junior High in Los Angeles. This is where she was welcomed, loved by many, and established a lot of life-long relationships. As time went by, Tanya later went on to pursue her associate’s degree in Liberal Arts and Science from Valley Community College, Valley Glen, CA. She was a woman of many trades who loved to interact with people. Tanya was a licensed cosmetologist and vendor. She would spend her time traveling and spreading her happiness and joy for life. Tanya was also a member of United with Parks Chapel A.M.E Church located in San Fernando, CA.
Tanya loved her family, especially her son Lamar D. Green Jr., who predeceased her in 2012. Anyone that knew Tanya knew the love and connection she had with her son as well as her wonderful grandchildren: Hailey, Nathan, and Rylee, whom Tanya cherished and adored. She understood the importance of family and always wanted to have them around so that she could teach them the value of being supportive and loving for one another no matter the circumstances. Tanya had a very giving heart and was very generous. She would make strangers feel welcome and never judgmental.
Even after she was diagnosed with breast cancer, Tanya remained a fighter. She would not allow anything keep her away from doing what she loved, such as her job as a beautician or vending at events all around the US. She had an eye for fashion and greatly enjoyed helping people look and feel good about themselves. The things Tanya treasured the most were interacting with people, laughing, and sharing her time with friends and family.
Left to cherish the fond memories of her are Tanya’s mother Deborah Robinson of New Brighton, PA; Sister Tara Robinson of New Brighton, PA; Granddaughter Hailey Green of Sherman Oaks, CA; grandson Nathan Diaz of Houston, Texas; Special daughter Marian Williams of Sun Valley, CA; special granddaughter Rylee Anderson, Sherman Oaks, CA; Goddaughter Darchelle Brunson and Godson Lashay Whitmore and a host of extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her son, Lamar D Green and Grandmother, Laura Elizabeth Ikard.
