Raul Antonio Acevedo, son of the late Sr. Raul Acevedo and Sra. Blanca Olivia Caminos vda de Acevedo, age 68, left us unexpectedly on Saturday, February 6th, 2021. He was the husband of Maria Luz Castro.
Raul was born in El Salvador on October 17, 1951. Raul left El Salvador and immigrated to the United States in 1977. He left his home country fleeing from repression and in the pursuit of love to reunite with Maria Luz Castro in Las Vegas. After surviving non-hodgkin's lymphoma, Raul retired in 2003 after 20 years of service for Ford Motor Company. Raul was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He was a man of great humor, maintained a joy for life, and lived his life to the fullest. Raul spent his days dedicated to his wife and grandchildren, he was selfless and placed the needs of others, before his. He was a loving son and the love he shared towards his mother was to be admired. Raul was intelligent and well versed in politics. He was a man of many traits, a passionate craftsman and could be found fixing things around his home. Anyone who knew him knew he was a man who loved his family and supportive father. He lived his life spreading his infectious personality and laugh, he truly was a joy to be around.
Raul is predeceased by his father, Raul Acevedo, mother, Blanca Olivia vda de Acevedo, and brother Gilberto Acevedo Caminos. He is survived by his spouse, Maria Luz Castro, daughter Cati Acevedo-Torres; step daughter’s, Claudia Lisstte Palacios and Aida Ivonne Castro. His grandchildren, Melony Cienfuegos, Caesar Marcel Taura, Walter Raul Rodriguez, Guillanna Caima, and Sandino Acevedo Torres; great grandson, Dominic Black Abarca. Also sisters, Ana Isabel Acevedo Caminos, Maria de los Angeles Acevedo de Sandoval, and Guadalupe de la Rosa Acevedo Caminos.
Visitation will be held on March 23, 2021, at 4:00 pm at Pierce Brothers Valhalla, 10621 Victory Blvd, North Hollywood, CA. The funeral service will be held on March 26, 2021, at 1:00 pm at Pierce Brothers Valhalla, 10621 Victory Blvd, North Hollywood, CA. Graveside Service will be held on March 26, 2021, at 2:30 pm at Pierce Brothers Valhalla, 10621 Victory Blvd, North Hollywood, CA. The family requests that all flowers are sent on the day of the Visitation taking place on March 23rd.

Raúl nació en El Salvador el 17 de octubre de 1951. Raúl salió de El Salvador y emigró a Estados Unidos en 1977. Dejó su país de origen huyendo de la represión y en busca del amor para reunirse con María Luz Castro en Las Vegas. Después de sobrevivir al cáncer, Raúl se retiró después de 20 años de servicio para Ford Motor Company. Raúl fue un esposo, padre y abuelo dedicado. Era un hombre de gran humor, mantuvo la alegría de vivir y vivió su vida al máximo. Raúl pasaba sus días dedicado a su esposa y nietos, era desinteresado y anteponía las necesidades de los demás a las suyas. Era un hijo cariñoso y el amor que compartía con su madre era digno de admiración. Raúl era inteligente y muy versado en política. Era un hombre de muchos rasgos, un artesano apasionado y se le podía encontrar arreglando cosas en su casa. Cualquiera que lo conocía sabía que era un hombre que amaba a su familia y un padre solidario. Vivió su vida difundiendo su personalidad contagiosa y riendo, realmente era un placer estar cerca de él.
Raúl es fallecido antes por su padre, Raúl Acevedo, su madre, Blanca Olivia vda de Acevedo, y su hermano Gilberto Acevedo Caminos. Le sobreviven su esposa, María Luz Castro, su hija Cati Acevedo-Torres; su hijastra, Claudia Lisstte Palacios y Aida Ivonne Castro. Sus nietos, Melony Cienfuegos, Caesar Marcel Taura, Walter Raúl Rodríguez, Guillanna Caima y Sandino Acevedo Torres; bisnieto, Dominic Black Abarca. También hermanas, Ana Isabel Acevedo Caminos, María de los Ángeles Acevedo de Sandoval y Guadalupe de la Rosa Acevedo Caminos.
