Barbara Bletcher U’Ren, a resident of Burbank, died at the age of 90 at Belmont Village.
She was born in Los Angeles, on July 14, 1925 and was an only child. Her father and mother, Billy and Arline Bletcher, worked in the motion picture industry and soon found Barbara her first acting job in a silent film when she was six months old. That was the beginning of many years as an actress in film, TV and stage. Her life was adventurous and creative as she shared her talent as a singer during the Korean War, entertaining the troops with the USO in Korea and Japan. She worked for Disney Studios, NBC, and sang in night clubs throughout the US including Alaska. Barbara loved to sing, music was her passion.
She also enjoyed reading, traveling, and being with family and friends. Everyone loved being with her because of the great love and joy she expressed.
She is survived by her daughter Michelle, son Philip, four grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
