William Harry Cook Jr., age 95, of Naples Florida, passed away on Thursday March 16, 2017 in the loving embrace of his wife of 65 years, Marie. Harry was born on February 10, 1922 in Abington Pa. He was preceded in death by his father William Harry Cook Sr, mother Helena Cook (Geissler) and a younger brother Robert Paul Cook. He is survived by a younger sister, Shirley Kathleen Anderson (Cook). Harry was a graduate of Abington, PA, High School, Class of 1940. Harry married Marie Delores Cook (Neeld) on May 24, 1952 at Saint Luke’s church in Glenside, PA. Harry was the loving father of four children, Elizabeth Ellen Roy (Cook) and her husband Richard Roy; William Harry Cook lll wife Debra Cook (Mohollen); Cynthia Marie Young (Cook) who was married to Richard Young and Louise Marie Houck (Cook) husband Andy Houck. He is fondly remembered by his grandchildren Ryan Mychal Cook, Richard James Roy, Lindsay Mohollen Wainwright (Cook), Jessica Florence Cook, LiLauren Bergeron (Roy),Kelsey Leigh Crozier (Cook), Holly Ann Young and Rachel Emily Houck. He will also be missed by his great grandchildren, RyLeigh Morgan Bilbrey, Colton William Crozier, Peyton Victoria Cook, Bryanna Mohollen Wainwright and Lola James Bergeron. Harry served with distinction as an officer in the 931 Signal Battalion (Aviation)(Special) in the CBI Theater of operations during the Second World War. After serving in the war he rose steadily through the management ranks at AT&T until 1982. He then went on to a fulfilling career at Thomas & Betts working in their Research & Development Division until his final retirement in 1996. During his long and fulfilling life Harry was a devout catholic. He was also an avid model railroader and was active with GATSME (Greater Abington Township Society of Model Engineers), a group of like-minded railroaders in Abington Pa. Harry was a dignified, humble, gentleman who enjoyed a Southern Comfort Manhattan on occasion and will be missed by anyone who had the good fortune to know him. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Anne Seton Church in Naples, FL. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made Harry’s name to Avow Hospice Care. Arrangements have been entrusted to the National Cremation and Burial Society.
