Thomas H Leighton Jr.

Born in Newport News, VA on June 8, 1937, Thomas was the son of the late Thomas H. Leighton, Sr. and Sarah Holliday.

Thomas was retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard where he worked as an electrician. He was a member of Portside Baptist Church and he was an avid sports fan that loved the Atlanta Braves and South Carolina Gamecocks.

Thomas is survived by his sister Jane Stall; his son, Chris and daughter-in-law, Angela; daughters Karen Sturkie (Mike) and Susan Leighton; granddaughter, Melissa Gilroy (Austin); grandsons, Austin and Matthew Sturkie, and great granddaughter, Brynleigh Kate Gilroy.

Thomas is preceded in death by his brother, Mike Leighton.

A graveside service will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Carolina Memorial Park located at 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406. 843-797-2222. Interment will be at Carolina Memorial Park.
