Shirley Owens

Hanahan - A loving wife, mom and grandma, entered into Heaven on Wednesday, September 22, 2021. Born in Charleston, SC, she was the baby girl of Margie Mae and Harvey Thomas Langley. Ottis, her husband and love of her life, preceded her in death by six hours. They were happily married for 44 years. Shirley was an active and supportive military wife for 21 years while Ottis served in the Navy. She was also a selflessly devoted daughter who took care of her mother for over 23 years.

Shirley was always a fun character and very involved with her kids. She loved her children and her grandbabies unconditionally. She also loved oldies music, playing Scrabble, and her pets.

She is survived by her two children; Christina Adeline (Damien) and Thomas Owens (Rhynne). Her grandchildren; Anna Owens (5), Esmae Adeline (4), Ace Owens (4), and by extension, Cody Unruh (18). Her siblings; Kimsey Mintz (Paulette), Thomas Langley (Sylvia), Jeanette Yarrington (Larry), Jimmy Langley (Janet) and Harvey “Jr.” Langley. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ottis Owens, and also her parents, Margie and Harvey Langley. She will be missed by many.

Services for Shirley Mae Owens will be on Friday, October 8, 2021, 11:30 a.m. at Tri-City Baptist Church, 152 Lazy Hill Road, Moncks Corner, SC 29461. A visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shirley’s name to Tri-City Baptist Church Kids/Youth Ministry.
