Roy E. Jackson

Roy Edward Jackson, 85, of Summerville, South Carolina, passed peacefully into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. The visitation will be held at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406, Sunday, August 4, 2024 at 1:00 pm and a memorial service in the Chapel to follow at 2:00 pm, interment to follow thereafter at Carolina Memorial Park.

Roy was born May 9, 1939, in Lebanon Virginia, son of the late Jerry Walker Jackson and Mary Jane Mutter Jackson. He was predeceased by Catherine Brown. Roy honorably served in the United States Air Force in Charleston, SC and was employed by Davis and Floyd Engineering for 40 years.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing, bowling, playing bingo and spending time with friends and family. He was a long-time member of the Charleston Rifle Club and the Elks Lodge where he spent time dancing and socializing with great friends.

Roy is survived by David and Hollie Jackson, Randy and Lisa Jackson, and Kevin and Constance Couch; his sister, Velma Morrison and brother, Harold Junior Jackson. In addition, he is survived by grandchildren, Jerimie and Jenna Jackson, Eric and Marialice Eadie, Matt and Brittany White, Brandon Jackson, and Reid Couch; great grandchildren Lillie Jackson, Preston and Mary Grace Eadie, and Mallory and Jackson White. Predeceased by siblings Kyle Jackson, Bertha Stenson, Peggy Jean Jackson, Robert Jackson, Claude Jackson, Mildred Hubbard and grandson Kevin Couch, Jr.
