It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert F. Zimpfer on April 15, 2024, at the age of 98. Robert was a conscientious, hardworking man who always put his family first. He leaves behind a legacy of strength and wonderful memories. He is now reunited with his beloved wife of 65 years, Lillian Zimpfer, who preceded him in death.
Born on November 27, 1925, in Columbus, Ohio, Robert's journey was one of resilience and dedication. He attended South High School in Columbus before honorably serving his country in the US Navy during World War II and the Korean conflict.
Robert's memory will forever be cherished by his daughter, Patricia Friedburg, of St. Petersburg, Florida, and his son, Robert M. Zimpfer, and daughter-in-law Vicki, of Daniel Island, South Carolina. He was a source of pride and inspiration to his two grandchildren, Eric Zimpfer (Trisha) and Brooke Drzewiecki (Brian), as well as his four great-grandchildren.
A man of integrity, Robert touched the lives of all who knew him. He was a devoted family man and a great friend to those who knew him.
In accordance with his wishes, Robert will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio. Though he may be gone from our sight, his memory will continue to live on in our hearts, guiding us with his resolve and wisdom for generations to come.
