Richard "Dick" Franklin Burks Jr., 83, of Hanahan, SC, passed away suddenly, Thursday, July 30, 2020 with his wife at his side. Dick was born July 18, 1937 in Fairfield, AL to Richard Franklin Burks Sr. and Agnes Waldrop Burks.
Dick is survived by his Loving wife of 58 years , Flo York Burks, daughters; Robbie Burks-Snipes (Donnie) of Lancaster, SC and Teresa Burks Steerman (Herb) of Hanahan, SC, grandson, Ryan M. Snipes of Hanahan, SC, and many wonderful and loving brother in-laws, sister in-laws, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Dick was employed by Morrison Cafeterias for over 17 years as Manager of Food Services at Springs Memorial Hospital in Lancaster, SC. He retired after 15 years as, Executive Director of Food Services for Springs Industries in Lancaster, SC.
Dick was an avid outdoorsman that loved hunting, fishing, Nascar, his Blue Birds and Humming birds, ALABAMA football, and watching his grandson, Ryan, Drag Race. Dick especially adored his family and spending time with them. His puppies, well they were all special, especially Heidi who was by his side every minute of the last 3 years, and by his side when he left us. He was also a member of Highland Park Baptist Church.
