Michael Owen Turner

Michael Owen Turner was born on September 11, 1959 to Isaiah "Ben" Turner, Sr. and Catherine Naomi Smalls Turner in Mt. Pleasant, SC. Michael attended Greater Goodwill AME church in Mt. Pleasant. He was a dedicated Christian.

He is survived by: his wife Cassandra Turner; his children: Antwain Turner (Sierra), Micah Gathers Turner (Ashley) and Adrianne Carter (Preston); his beautiful grandchildren; his siblings: John Turner (Hattie), Bella Cousette, Sammie Turner (Angel), Justine Turner, Thomas Turner and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Isaiah "Ben" Turner, Sr. and Catherine Naomi Smalls Turner and his seven siblings.

Michael was educated in the public schools of Charleston County. Upon graduating from high school, he accomplished careers in retail, managing Piggly Wiggly and Harris teeter, and truck driving. He was very proud to have accomplished these things. During his life he spent time traveling and enjoying his life growing fond memories with his family and friends. Michael liked watching sports and wrestling on TV. He liked making Sweet Grass baskets. He also liked to work on cars in his free time. Michael was such a loving and respected man. He will be remembered as a family man that loved everyone and his close friends.

A Visitation will be held on Sunday June 25, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Funerals & Cremation, 7113 Rivers Ave., North Charleston, SC 29406. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday June 26, 2023 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Funerals & Cremation Chapel. The Burial will follow at 12:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Gardens.
