Mary “Ann” Strock, age 80, of Hanahan, SC passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family, on September 17, 2023. She was born on August 1, 1943 to the late James and Mary Ellen Jeffcoat in Wagener, SC.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Henry Oneal Strock; her daughters, Tammy Mus (Ed), and Karen Allinger (Brian); her grandchildren: Ashley Renne, Michael Renne, and Cole Wood; her great granddaughter Madilyn Wood; her brother Bill Jeffcoat (Connie), Steve Jeffcoat (Barbara), and Mickey Jeffcoat (Lou Ellen) and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother Ronnie Jeffcoat, J.D. Jeffcoat (Judy), and Wayne Jeffcoat (Mary Nell).
Ann worked at Hanahan High School for 27 years as well as at Remount Baptist daycare until she retired. She never met a stranger and positively impacted the lives of many who grew up in Hanahan. She loved her family tremendously, as it showed and stemmed from her strong faith and commitment to God. She was a member of Remount Baptist Church and would faithfully attend services, until she fell ill.
One thing about Ann that was for certain, was that you would never leave her home feeling hungry or unwelcomed.
She loved spending time with her family and loved her grandchildren dearly. She was the sweetest, kindest, selfless, most compassionate person you would ever want to meet. She was dedicated to giving her time to serving others and her community through volunteering as the manager of the recreational cheerleading teams when she was younger. You could always find her watching either college football, or MLB (preferably the Braves), or basketball during March Madness with her grandson. She also treasured time shopping while out with her granddaughter.
Ann was an amazing wife, loving mother, and was a cherished grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend to many. She was a blessing to all and will be deeply missed by those fortunate enough to know her.
A visitation at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home for Mary will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
