Mary Lou Dial, age 87 of Goose Creek, SC passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 surrounded by her girls. Mary Lou was born on June 15, 1936 to the late Theressa Oliver Webb and Woodrow Webb in Florence, SC.
Mary Lou attended North Charleston High School where she played a variety of sports and continued to pursue her joy for sports throughout her life. She was an instructor for many years at Charleston Cosmetology Institute. She was tough at times, but all her students dearly loved her and affectionately called her "mad dog". She was a leader and used her stern and strong ethics to pave the way to success for her students. Mary Lou was also a member of Portside Baptist Church. She loved her family and friends and can say she had a life well lived.
Mary Lou is survived by her daughter, Sandie Gooding (Danny); her two sisters: Vera Cooper and Faye Parsons; four grandchildren: Melissa Bauer, Tiffany Gabe, Danna Clarke, and Danyell Law; six great-grandchildren: Cameron Collins, Madelyn Lou Robinson, Dustin Steen, Dancy Litchfield, Dakota and Danika Clarke; and three great-great-grandchildren: Addilyn Davis, Drayton Steen, and Cason James Litchfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dial; her parents, Theressa Oliver Webb and Woodrow Webb; and her three brothers: Wayne Webb, Jimmy Webb, and Laland Webb.
Mary Lou will be greatly missed by all that knew her, and she will be held in the hearts of her family forever. Until we meet again.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 1:00PM-2:30PM, at Carolina Memorial Funeral home located at 7113 Rivers Ave N. Charleston, SC 29406. A celebration of life will be held in the chapel beginning at 2:30PM, with the interment to follow thereafter at Carolina Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend their gratitude and give praise to the staff at Trident Hospital, including but not limited to the ER staff, the nurses and doctors of the Intensive Care Unit as they feel they were truly amazing. They would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Thakur, who stood by them with patience and guidance, while having to make the hardest decision of their lives.
