Born on July 3, 1949 in Williamson, West Virginia, Shorty was the daughter of the late James Clifford Stollings and Mary Delores Hunt.
Shorty is survived by daughter, Shawn Legg, her husband Chris, and their daughter Reagin, aka Peanut; son, Bubba Brown and his daughter Abbey Brown; two very close nephews, Brian Wallace and Rob Wallace; a special great niece, Reece and a countless number of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
In addition to her best friend and husband of almost 50 years, J.D. Brown, Shorty was preceded in death by her sister, Greta Johnson, and brothers, Larry, Milford and Wendall Stollings.
Shorty met J.D. when he was working in West Virginia and ultimately moved to South Carolina to start their beautiful life together. Shorty was a true original South Carolina transplant and once she made her own mark here, she found her work family and spent almost 30 years with what is now known as South State Bank.
Shorty was the epitome of a house is only a house, but a home is built from memories made with family. Hence the reason that someone as small as Shorty was, and still is, the biggest part of those that knew her.
A visitation at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, for Shorty, will be held Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A memorial service at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home will follow immediately at 12:00 PM. Interment will be at Carolina Memorial Park.
