Leonard C. Evans

Leonard C. “Chuck” Evans Sr., 92, of North Charleston, SC passed away on Tuesday morning, July 24, 2018 at Pinewood Place in Goose Creek. He was born November 5, 1925 in Cullowhee, NC to the late Jerry Logan Evans and Anna Delola Markum Evans.

He was a retired US Navy Officer, having served in both the US Army and Navy. He was the owner of Environmental Salvage and Chuck’s Towing.

Chuck was a member of the Dorchester Masonic Lodge # 369 AFM and the Omar Shrine Temple. He was an avid Shag dancer.

He is survived by his two sons, Leonard C. “Len” Evans, Jr. of Temple, Texas, and Allen C. Evans, of North Charleston, a daughter, Deborah D. “Deb” Lowe, of North Charleston, a brother, L. Edwin "Ed" Evans, three, grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents Chuck was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester Evans and Lewis Evans, and two sisters, Lorene Floyd and Lucy Singleton.

A funeral service will be held on Monday July 30, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Avenue in North Charleston. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service starting at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
