John E. Goodman

On April 5th, 2024, Mr. John E. Goodman, of Goose Creek S.C. Age 88, departed this earth to reunite with his wife Linda in Heaven. A loving father, husband and friend to many, he will be greatly missed by all. He cherished God and family above all else in this world. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and very proud of his service to his country. John was a devoted Atlanta Braves fan. He was a hardworking man who gave his time and affection to anyone who came into his life. Whether it was a young child without the love of a family or a friend who just needed their grass cut. John was always there for you. He retired from Raybestos Manhattan after more than thirty years of employment and enjoyed a well-deserved retirement.

Preceded in death by his parents; John Willie Goodman, Essie Mae Goodman, his wife Linda Louise Passmore Goodman, two brothers, and one sister.

John is survived by his children; Cyril Lahye Joyce Jr., Steven Barry Joyce, John Wayne Goodman, Deborah Marie Bourgeois (Wade), Audrey Dianne Spurlin (Jimmie), and Kelly Joyce Evans (Jerry)

Grandchildren; Amanda Renee Nunez, Jessica Marie Simpson, Steven Mathew Joyce, Jimmy Lavaughter Spurlin, Allison Brooke Burgoyne, Wiley Casey Goodman, Justin Robert Spurlin, Christopher Troy Evans, Bethany LeAnne Singletary, Mallory Nicole Evans, Julianna Marie Joyce

14 great-grandchildren.

Brothers and sister Ronnie Ray Goodman (Minnie), Clevie Carlton Goodman (Tammy) and Eileen Sconyers Smith (Frank).

A visitation at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home for John will be held Monday, April 8, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A life celebrated service at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home chapel will occur Monday, April 8, 2024 at 2:00 PM. An entombment at Carolina Memorial Park to follow service with U.S. Air Force Honors.
