Jim David Vance

Jim Vance was born on Sept 6, 1960. He was the son of Verlyn E. and Cliva J. Vance. He is survived by his two sisters, Gail Bucholz and Karen McCarty. His legacy includes his beloved three nephews and two nieces who collectively gave him three great nephews and three great nieces.

Jim played sports almost his entire childhood. He was a very talented baseball pitcher throughout his years at Hanahan High School. He also played baseball in college for a few years. Jim was an avid birdwatcher.

He loved all types of birds, but especially raptors. Through his love of birdwatching he became very good at photography.

Though Jim suffered some pain and confusion in the last small bit of his life, he touched many lives and was loved immensely.

Jim, we will miss you baby brother! Soar with the raptors!!

A visitation at carolina memorial funeral home for Jim will be held Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a committal service at carolina memorial garden at 2:00 PM.
