James (Pogo) William Waltz, 77, of Goose Creek, S.C., entered into eternal rest on January 14, 2016. He was born September 13, 1938 in Orangeburg, S.C., the son of the late Arthur Fred Waltz and Jessie Murphy. James retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard, was a member of the National Guard, Deer Park Baptist Church, the Elks Lodge and the Amateur Radio Club. He was predeceased by one brother and three sisters. He is survived by his loving wife Peggy Waltz; daughter Cathy (Mark) Wren of Kingsland, Ga.; son Michael (Debbie) Waltz of Goose Creek, S.C.; sister Janie Goodwin of Orangeburg, S.C., and grandsons Kyle and Ryan Wren. Visitation will take place at 11 a.m., Monday, January 18, 2016 at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, S.C, with a graveside service following at noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a local animal shelter.
