Hubert was born November 25, 1928 to the late Jessie Cleveland Dorman and Molly Emory Dorman. He was the youngest of 10 children. He was a member of Wando Woods Baptist Church were he served as a Deacon and choir member. Hubert retired from the U. S. Navy after 21 years and ARA Food Services after 20 years. He loved to travel, Alaska being his favorite.
He is survived by his wife, Harriett Cottingham Dorman, four children, Lacey "Kim" Dorman, Anita Dorman Smart of Yulee, FL, twins, Jerry Dorman (Donna), Kerry Dorman (Cindy), step-children, Kenneth Cottingham (Cheryl) of Douglasville, GA., David Cottingham Jacksonville FL., and Kim Cottingham Howard (Bill), 7 grandchildren, Joshua Dorman, Jeremy Smart of Amelia, FL, Jared Smart of Fernandina Beach, FL, Bradley Dorman, Bryan Dorman, Brittany Dorman McElfresh, and Corey Dorman; 7 great grandchildren, Lucy Dorman, Elijah Smart, Isabelle Smart, Lucas Smart, Mason Smart, Caleb Smart, and Bennett Dorman; 7 step-grandchildren, and 8 step great grandchildren.
He is predeceased in death by his wife of 45 years, Frances J Dorman.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 6-8PM at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. A Celebration of New Life will be Wednesday, May 2, at 11AM at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, burial will immediately follow in Carolina Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors.
