Elsie Lee Barrow

On Thursday, March 22, 2018, Elsie Lee Cowart Barrow peacefully died in her home in Goose Creek, SC. She will be forever remembered for her tenacity, love of family, giving nature, and her incredible work ethic.

Elsie was born on February 18, 1917 to Leander “Lee” Cowart and Margaret Elizabeth “Lizzie” Wildes Cowart; in Collins, GA. At four years old her mother died from pneumonia. Her father worked incredibly hard with farming and a mail route. He would need help raising the girls. That help came from family and family friends, but Elsie mentioned Ms Ella Lynn as a consistent influence in their life.

She attend Brewton Parker College where she met her husband E. Neil Barrow. They had one daughter, Penny Treasure Barrow Brant. She is survived by her granddaughters, Sara Scapellato (Sean) and Amy Taylor (Wayne) of Charleston, SC; her great grandchildren, Nick, Maggie, Sammy and Brant.

On Monday, March 26, 2018 there will be a visitation from 2:00 - 3:00 pm at the Carolina Memorial Funeral Home followed by the Life Well Celebrated Service at the Carolina Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel.
