Dorothy Morgan Owens, 87, of Goose Creek, S.C. died Monday, October 5, 2015. Dorothy was born June 2, 1928 in Charleston, S.C., daughter of Theodora Morgan. She was a member of the Advent Lutheran Church where she was a member of the choir and a Sunday school teacher. She was retired from The Citadel as a bookkeeper. Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Gail Morgan of Charleston, S.C. and Carol Shealy of Sayer, Pa.; two sons, David L. Owens and Richard Corey Owens, both of Goose Creek, S.C.; brother Charles Dowdle of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren Shannon, Chris, Kyle and Daniel; and several great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at the Advent Lutheran Church, 3347 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, S.C with her funeral service will be following at 11 a.m. Arrangements made by Carolina Memorial Park, Funerals and Cremations of North Charleston, S.C. Memorials may be made to the Advent Lutheran Church.
