David was born February 3, 1975, in Sumter, South Carolina. A Goose Creek High School graduate and Navy Veteran, David was a passionate lover of art, music, poetry, and movies, particularly those of Kevin Bacon and anything Star Wars. He was happiest when he was spending time with his family, creating unique and vibrant paintings, and composing music inspired by his favorite artists like Chris Cornell. David’s passion for the arts carried through all aspects of his life, most especially in his work as a Master Barber, where he would provide a one-of-a-kind hairstyling service that was marked by his dedication to connecting with clients, sharing stories and jokes. He radiated a kindness and compassion that was not only shared with his family and friends, but anyone he met, having an uncanny ability to connect with others and make them feel as if they had known him all their lives. He was fiercely loyal, and one of the most giving men, always making sure that his family was taken care of, never asking for anything in return. He is most remembered for his goofy personality and infectious smile, laughter, and jokes that filled family holidays with warmth, fond memories, and Hawaiian Punch, especially when he would dazzle and scare the family with firework antics during the 4th of July. He leaves a legacy of laughter, unparalleled artistry, excellent taste in films, and a kindness of soul that cannot be matched, dearly cherished by all his friends and loved ones.
His memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at the Carolina Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens Chapel, with the visitation with family and friends at 2:00 PM and memorial service at 3:00 PM.
