He served in the US Navy 1961 to1965 on aircraft carriers Saratoga and Enterprise.
He then had a 32 year career with Southern Bell, first as a lineman, and ended as a facility technician.
He is survived by his wife, Dixie Kizer Songer, daughters Rebecca Lisa Sessions (Bryan) and Angela Frances Page (Jerry), Sons Jonathan Moore Songer (Jacquie) and Daniel Christopher Songer, nine grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, brother Tommy (Kim) and sister Mary. Predeceased by sister Kathleen Robbins (Butch) and brother Richard (Vicki).
Cliff spent his life in service to his God as a teacher of Children and Adult Sunday School.
Served on the Charleston Ostomy Association, Edisto Lions Club, Edisto USCG Auxiliary and Chaplain for SCV Chapter 131 on Edisto. Charter member of Charleston Barbershop Quartet and enjoyed playing piano and guitar.
Celebration of Cliff’s Life will be Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 11 AM at the Edisto Beach Civic Center located at 42 Station Ct, Edisto Island, SC 29438. A private family burial will be Friday, April 2, 2021 at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home.
