Claire Russell McNeill

Born in Laurinburg, NC on April 23, 1923, Claire was the daughter of the late Manly Harrison Russell and Emma Britt Russell,

Claire was a charter member of John Calvin Presbyterian Church where she enjoyed the woman’s circle. She, along with her husband Denny, were inducted into the SC Square Dancing Hall of Fame.

Surviving are daughters, Carolyn Hughes Harris and Beth Cooke and husband Frank; grandchildren, Keith Driggers, Clif Driggers and wife Christina and Kimberly Hughes Martin and husband Jeremie; great grandchildren, Jonathan Carpenter and wife Morgan, Destiny Martin, Bella Martin and Nathan Driggers; great great granddaughter, Whitley Mae Carpenter; sisters in law, Ruth McNeill Westbury and Nancy McNeill Collins and many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her loving husband of 70 years, Denny and her parents, Claire was preceded in death by siblings, Lena Gibson, Roy Russell, Bill Russell, Marshall Russell, Marie Webb, Libby Harris, Katie Shepherd and Sadie Russell.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Mount Hope Cemetery located at 100 Cherokee Rd, Florence, SC 29501. Burial will follow immediately.
