Christine Elizabeth Burnside was born October 15, 1949 in Slough, Berkshire, England. In 1952 Christine’s new stepfather, Robert Charles Leather, brought his bride, Joan Kathleen (Christine’s mother), to Fort Bliss (Biggs Field), El Paso, Texas, and then they moved on to Bermuda. Later they moved to Othello, Washington, where Christine met Mike Skeens, and together they had two children, Laura Kathleen and Christina Louise.
Christine is survived by her two daughters, Laura and Christina; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Christine was preceded in death by her dad, Robert Charles Leathers, and mom, Joan Kathleen.
She was known to all the kids as “Granny C”. She was a woman of indomitable spirit and her kindness of heart. She will be sorely missed by all who had the opportunity to know her.
