Billy was a member of Hanahan Baptist Church of Hanahan SC, as well as Beulah Baptist Church in Hamer, SC. He was a Christian man that loved his Lord, his church, fellow members, and pastors. He put his family first and was the glue that held them all together. Everyone knew him as a wonderful, caring, generous, and loving father, brother, son, and friend. He was always willing to lend a hand or give helpful words of wisdom. Billy was a passionate fisherman, as he loved spending many a day on the Cooper River.
Billy is survived by his fianceé, Clara Elsie Hooks; his children, Jacob, Angel, Starr (Codey), and Jade; four grandchildren, Courtney, Summer, Kody, and Skye; one great-grandchild, Colton; his sister Doris (Bert); and many loved nieces and nephews.
Billy was preceded in death by his wife, Fern; as well his siblings: Acie, Donnie, Homer, Jessie, Mitchell, Essie, Hattie, Freddie, and Hazel.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 6-8PM at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, located at 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406.
A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, beginning at noon, at Hanahan Baptist Church located at 1262 Belvedere Dr. Hanahan, SC 29410.
