Mrs. Bessie S Graham

Bessie Smith Graham, age 86, of Ridgeville SC, died Wednesday, May 29th 2024. She was born in Bishopville SC on March 22nd 1938 to the late Paul Smith and Lizzie Mae Smith. She retired from Berkeley County School District as a bus driver and teacher's aide. She served as the President of the Berkeley Ladies Shrine Club. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, coloring, and her annual visit to Myrtle Beach with her sisters.

She is survived by her two daughters, Debora Howard (Chris) of Goose Creek SC, and Paula Huggins (Marc) of Ridgeville SC; sisters Pauline Brown of Mullins SC, Mary Elizabeth "Skeeter" Lewis of Nichols SC, Betty Dean Martin (Hollis) of Mullins SC, and Susie Martin (Skip) of Ridgeville SC; and grandchildren Drew Howard, Connor Howard, and Christopher Huggins. She was preceded in death by her first husband Ernest Harold Graham, with whom she was married 48 years before he passed on May 16th 2008. She was also predeceased by her sister Margaret Morris, brother Tommy Smith, and second husband William Arthur Brown.

Graveside funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 1st 2024 at Carolina Memorial Park, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29406.
