Remember how much she loved the children she cared for.  
Was a wonderful and loving person.

Barbara was so loving and kind to everyone she met.  It made no difference in the season of life they were in.  She treated everyone all the same.  She would share moments of her personal life at times but with much love and understanding.

I have known Barbara for over 40.years. She was one of the most caring and loving person I have ever known.

I've known Mrs.Barbara practically my whole life. She was a beautiful woman and she was a great mom,grandmother and friend. She always called me Sarah Jane, knowing that wasnt my middle name. She always accepted me and loved me, and yep disciplined me if us girls needed it. Even though I grew up got married and moved away, I always thought to stop by visit and chat. She was like a second mom to me and I have comfort knowing that I will see her again. Love you Mrs.Barbara, and I will never forget you.

There will never be another Ms. Barbara. She has loved so many children over the years including mine. I never once worried when they were in her care. She loved them as if they were her own grandchildren. 
The first day of summer when she opened the pool was a “big day” for all the kiddos. We arrived early our first summer with our swim pull-ups and a life jacket in hand and I was ready to explain all the pool rules to her for Ethan. She smiled and said “ honey, we don’t use life jackets”.  My eyes must have popped out of my head because she went on to explain that she would teach him to swim and not to worry, “just go on to work”.  I didn’t worry, not then not ever. When I thought it was time to potty train Ethan she politely told me “nope, not yet but I will let you know when it is “ and she did. 
As the kids got older she would give them chores like feeding her lizards. Yes- she feed lizards and every animal or person that ever came  to her home. 
This past year when Ethan was at a friends house he would stop by just to say hi. His first visit Pappa Gerald opened the door and said “can I help you?”  not recognizing the now almost 6 foot tall boy at his door. Pappa Gerald quickly called Ms Barbara and they made all over him. It truly takes a special person to make kids want to come back just to say Hi. We love Ms Barbara and Papa Gerald and will forever be great full for the love and wonderful care she took of our children. 

I was so sad when I got the news of Mrs.Barbara’s passing. She has always held a very special place in my heart. Nanna took care of me from when I was 3 months old to when I was about 13. My mom was a single parent who worked late most nights and I was usually the last one picked up. I used to love her cooking. To this day I will only eat a peanut butter jelly the way she made it, all mixed together and warmed up for about 10 seconds. Years after I stopped going to her daycare I went back to say hey and I was so nervous that she wouldn’t remember me and when she opened the door she knew me by name. She still had some of my art saved and asked me if I still had crazy allergies and asked me in such detail about my family. That takes a special heart to love and care for so many kids in her community and still know the names of my sisters and my mom. She was truly an angel on earth. I will always remember her fondly.
