Barbara O Dennis, led a rich and meaningful life, filled with love, hard work, and cherished moments with her family and friends. Born to Frank and Pearl Olayos on August 9, 1942, she devoted herself to her role as a mother to Richard, Lori, and James Michael. Her dedication extended beyond her family as she spent 26 years working for Greenbax/Piggly Wiggly and co-owned a cleaning business with her daughter for three decades.
Known for her strong work ethic and caring nature, Barbara touched the lives of many. Her love for travel took her to numerous destinations, where she made memories that wil be treasured forever. She had a green thumb and loved to garden.
Weekends at Myrtle Beach held a special place in Barbara's heart, providing her with serene escape and moments of relaxation. She had a remarkable ability to make others feel loved and valued, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Despite facing cancer with courage, Barbara's journey came to an end on May 10th, 2024. Her absence leaves a void in the lives of her family and friends, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Reunited with her beloved friends, the Golden Girls," Barbara's spirit will continue to shine as she plays cards in heaven.
Her family expresses gratitude to the dedicated medical professionals at MUSC who supported Barbara throughout her battle. In celebrating her life, they honor her resilience and the love she shared with all who knew her.
She is survived by her three children, Richard Dennis (Laurie), Lori Markham (Tony), and Michael Dennis. Survivors also include her five grandchildren: Ryan, Lauren. Anthony, Michelle, and Mikie along with her three great-grandchildren and brother Frank J Olayos
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, May 17, 2024 from 2 pm to 3 pm at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home, 7113 Rivers Ave. North Charleston. Inurnment will be private.
