Anne L. Dennis, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on the evening of April 8th, 2024, in Goose Creek, SC.
Anne was born in Charleston, SC, on August 20, 1954, to the late Hernon and Ollie Stullenbarger. She graduated from Hanahan High School in 1972 and later attended Palmer Business College, where she honed her skills for a successful career in insurance that spanned over 40 years.
Anne was truly committed to her faith and service as a member at St. James UMC. Her faithfulness in Christ was witnessed during service, at the Labyrinth and through the many classes and study groups she attended. Anne served on numerous church committees, councils and boards and in various positions. Her support of St. James’ ministries embodied her will to be a constant force in ensuring St. James UMC’s open doors were welcome doors. Anne’s truly found her niche in the hospitality ministry where her leadership along with her attention to detail will surely be missed.
Anne was preceded in death by her loving husband, Julian "JL" Dennis, and her brothers Harry, Lawrence, and Donald Stullenbarger.
She is survived by her daughters, Cassie Dennis of Goose Creek and Kimberly Crane (Chip) of Mt. Pleasant, and her son, Donald Pardue of Goose Creek; her brothers Kent (Donna) Stullenbarger of Wando, and Robert Stullenbarger of Hanahan. Anne's legacy will live on through her grandchildren, Langley, Cooper, and Jack Crane of Mt. Pleasant, whom she adored beyond measure. She also leaves behind many wonderful friends and a very loving church family.
Anne's kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering faith touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her warmth, generosity, and love for her family and community.
Services will be held at St. James United Methodist Church in Goose Creek on Tuesday, April 16, 2024.
Family and friends may pay their respects during the visitation from 10:00-11:00 AM. A memorial service to celebrate Anne's life will follow starting at 11:00AM. Anne will then be laid to rest at Carolina Memorial Gardens, located at 7113 Rivers Ave, N. Charleston, SC 29406.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the church's hospitality committee in Anne's honor.
