After retiring Bill and Esther traveled the US in their motorhome, and enjoyed activities around their home on Hoods Canal. He was a past president of the Twanoh Falls Beach Club and a long time member of the Gypsy Roamers RV Club. They spent winters in Yuma, Arizona.
