Miss Chen Pei Qing was born in 1925 in China. She was married to Mai Deng Chi and they had one daughter and one son. In 1950 her husband moved to Hong Kong and never returned. Pei was left to care for her two small children the best she could. Despite her hardships she was very loving, and always friendly to her neighbours. In 1996 she immigrated to Canada with her sons’ family. She settled into North Battleford where her son opened the Main Diner Restaurant. Pei was happy to help her family and she spent the rest of her years as the Main Diner Grandma until her passing on September 27, 2013 with family by her side. She will be lovingly remembered by all who know her.
