Bill was raised in Detroit Michigan and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He graduated from Classen High School in 1944 before entering the service with the United States Army in World War II. He faithfully served his country in the Philippines as a sergeant in the Military Police before being honorably discharged in October 1946. Bill attended the University of Oklahoma prior to his service in World War II and upon his return from the service attended and graduated from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia in 1951. Bill worked 43 years as a District Manager for Southwestern Bell and A T & T before his retirement in 1991.He was a member of numerous clubs, including President of the Lions Club, Rotary and the AT&T Pioneers. He was an active member and former chairman of the Golden Agers. He was the recipient of the St. Joseph Worker of the Year in 1993. He volunteered for Adapting for Change with the U.A. and OU Medical Center.
He was married to Salli Reese on November 1, 2008.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 50 years, Lottie Rae Crisman White; infant son, Christopher Montgomery White; granddaughter, Michelle Ann White; and grandson Jerrold Millar White.
He is survived by his wife; four sons, Michael Jean White and wife Gwendolyn, James Daniel White, William G. White, Jr., and wife Susie, John Thomas White and wife Traci; stepdaughter, Beth Burgess and husband Alan; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four nieces and three nephews, one brother and sister-in-law Millar (Bud) Barry White Sr. and Betsy White; and three other sister-in-laws, Shirley Luck, Jane Shouldice, Margaret Hatten.
He was led by his faith, loved by his family and blessed by his friends. And he taught his son’s the importance of all three with faith in Christ always to be first. He was a hero to all of his sons and to most who knew him. But he will be missed by all.
And we say to him now as he said to his son’s when we would say good-bye.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 PM Friday, June 21 at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Norman, with interment to follow at Norman IOOF Cemetery with military honors to include bagpipes. Visitation will be 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Thursday at Primrose Funeral Service. A Rosary will be said at 4:30 PM Thursday at the St. Charles Borromeo Chapel, 421 E Acres St. Norman, OK 73071, followed by a Wake Prayer service from 5:00- 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Joseph ECDC in Norman and St. Joseph Golden Agers, William G. White, Sr. Scholarship Fund, at St. Thomas More in Norman.
