Moore - Charlie was born in Oklahoma City on December 23, 1953. He lived a beautiful life on this earth until August 29, 2021. He was born to William C. Clay Sr. and Addelynne P. Clay, who have proceeded him in death.
Charlie is survived by the love of his life, Debbie Clay; Sister, Brenda (Mike) Anshutz of (Newcastle, OK); Sons, Brent (Chelsy) and Brad (Tracy) of (OKC); Four grandchildren (Kaylie, Kennedy, Alyssa and Caleb) one great grandchild (Wilder). He is also survived by his nephews; Brian, Chris (Lisa) and Brad (Angie) Anshutz along with six great nieces, one great nephew and a host of friends.
Charlie graduated from U.S. Grant High School and received his PhD from The University of Oklahoma, where he was a Professor of Sociology, until he retired.
Charlie was a kind, gentle soul who loved God, Debbie, his family, reading, woodworking, gardening and golfing. He was an OU Sooner for life. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time at Lake Tenkiller, walking and playing with his dogs.
Charlie would converse intelligently with anyone; often sharing gentle, thoughtful and compassionate advice. Charlie loved and was loved. He was a friend to all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
