Tony was a member of the Navy Reserves and was called to Active Duty to serve in the Vietnam War. He was stationed at Dong Tam as a Sea Bee (Construction Battalion). After coming home after completing his service in Vietnam, he worked as a finish carpenter until his retirement. Tony loved being with his family and enjoyed playing golf and watching the OU Sooner football and softball teams.
Tony will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 36 years, Myrna, children Scott of Norman, Christopher of Norman, and Melissa Fitch of Noble. Grandchildren Deven Tinsley of the home and Steven Thackery of Noble. Siblings Cathie (Bob) Moneypenney of Mercedes,Texas, and David (Joyce)Tinsley of Norman. Mother-in-Law Wanda Rowell of Noble. Sisters-in-Law Jeanette Sellers of Noble, Cheryl (Jim) Burnett of Noble. He will be missed by many other family and friends.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, brother Sam Tinsley, and father-in-law Henry Rowell.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Primrose Funeral Service Chapel with Gina McClain officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery with Jeremy Shea, Jeremiah Tinsley, Tom Moneypenny, Dustin Brannon, Zane Compton and Griffin Sellers serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be David Tinsley, Bob Moneypenny, Deven Tinsley, Steven Thackery, Skyler Hobbs and John Bills. Family will receive friends at the funeral home the night before the service on April 19, 2023 from 6-8 p.m.
