Tamara "Tammy" Ann VanWinkle-Cossey

Tamara "Tammy" Ann VanWinkle-Cossey, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and grandmother, passed away on March 2, 2025, at the age of 59. She was born on November 3, 1965, in Lexington, Oklahoma, to Dorris Dean and Betty Lou (Reeves) VanWinkle.

Tammy married the love of her life, Dave Cossey, on November 26, 2011, and they shared a beautiful life together. Tammy's spirit was filled with joy, and she lived her life with a deep love for her family and an unwavering sense of kindness. She enjoyed the music of country and rock and roll. Her favorite color was purple, and she cherished nothing more than a warm, rainy day spent relaxing under a tin roof.

Above all, Tammy's greatest joy came from spending time with her family. Her children and grandchildren were her world, and their laughter was always music to her ears. She was a constant source of love, teaching everyone who knew her how to love unconditionally and how to appreciate the little moments in life. Tammy was a kind and caring wife, mother, daughter, and Nana, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Tammy is survived by her loving husband, Dave Cossey, of the home; her father, Dorris and his spouse Carol VanWinkle of Noble; her children, Terra Gains and her spouse Kent of Choctaw, Oklahoma, Derrick Mitchell of Norman, Oklahoma and Nick Mitchell of Norman, Oklahoma; her brother, Timothy Gee and his wife Molly of Edmond, Oklahoma; her sisters, Sheila Baquera and her spouse Tony of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Angela Bradford and her spouse Tim of Tecumseh, Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren; 5 nieces; 2 nephews; and a host of other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Gee.

A celebration of Tammy’s life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Primrose Funeral Service Chapel. Tammy's memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched, and she will forever be remembered for her warmth, love, and laughter.
