Sharon Kay Green, of Norman, Oklahoma, was born on February 12, 1951, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Joe Welchert and Maxine (Copeland) Welchert. Sharon passed away on December 12, 2024, at the age of 73 years.
Sharon attended Norman High School and lived in the Norman area for most of her life. She married the love of her life, Mike Green, on July 28, 1983. Sharon worked as a quality control engineer for Johnson Controls for many years, where she was known for her meticulous and organized nature.
Sharon enjoyed listening to country music and cherished warm sunny days. Her laughter was contagious, whether she was sharing moments with Mike or watching her beloved cat, Harry, whose antics never failed to amuse her. Sharon was a guiding light to those around her, teaching the importance of love, trust, and organization. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be missed greatly.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband Mike of the home; children, Kendra Martin and her spouse Cris of Norman, OK, and Jason Pirtle and his spouse Lety of Edmond, OK; her grandchildren, Abigail Martin, Eric Santiago Pirtle, Ethan Vasquez, Nadya Reagan, and Nyssa Vasquez Morrow; her cherished fur baby, Harry the cat; and numerous other family members and friends. All who knew Sharon will treasure their memories of her and the joy she brought into their lives.
Memorial donations may be made in Sharon’s honor to the Stephenson Cancer Center or the American Cancer Society.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 18th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Sharon’s life will be held on Thursday, December 19th, at 10:00 a.m. at Primrose Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Warren Cemetery in Norman.
