Richard had an associate’s degree in Engineering. Richard also served our country and was part of the National Guard for many years. Richard married Joan on September 22, 1962. They had 48 beautiful years together until she passed unexpectantly in June of 2011.
Richard lived many places throughout his life, he started in Niagara Falls, NY until 1965 before moving to Jackson, NJ in 1979. Richard then moved to Pennsylvania, then in 1983 made his final move and landed in Norman Oklahoma. He loved all kinds of music from classical (Mozart) to country (Alison Krauss) and even some blue grass (Dan Tyminski). Richard loved the color green and a perfect day was any day spent with his family, doing anything from daily tasks to the holidays, he enjoyed them all. He was always laughing at dad jokes and the funny things the kids would say. Richard taught us courage, morality, money vigilance, Catholicism, and to always “Do what you have to do”. Richard loved family events with his grandchildren. Some professional accomplishments that Richard had were serving as an expert witness and consulting in legal cases regarding heating and air conditioning systems. Richard was a member of the St. Mark Evangelist Catholic Church.
Richard is preceded in death by his loving wife; Joan Kozlowski, his parents; Thomas and Katherine Kozlowski, brother; Eugene (Mary) Kozlowski, of Niagara Falls, NY, sister; Jane (Adolf) Watroba of North Tonawanda, NY.
Left to cherish his memory are his children; Karen Barry of Timonium, MD, Eric (Ellen) Kozlowski of Norman Oklahoma, grandchildren; Marilyn, Alyssa, Jill Kozlowski, and Justin Barry. He also leaves behind 2 nieces and 4 nephews, and his two favorite hospice nurses, Rachal and Catherine.
Memorial Service will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church at 10 AM.
