Rhonda Kay Clements

Rhonda Kay Clements, of Moore, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at the age of 59. She was born to Ronald and Estelle Evans of Norman, in Charleston, South Carolina on August 25, 1963. Rhonda graduated from Norman High School in 1981. She received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma and earned her master’s degree in elementary education from the University of Oklahoma, Norman. Rhonda married Leslie Clements on July 12, 1986. She was overjoyed with the birth of their son, Justin Clements. Rhonda pursued her love of teaching for 37 years at Hubbard Elementary, Noble Oklahoma. Rhonda was Teacher of the Year for Hubbard, Noble Public School District three times during her career. Rhonda was a teacher mentor, served on numerous committees, was the Jr. Robotics teacher, taught 3rd grade and served as the virtual teacher. Rhonda was a member of the National Association of Classroom Teachers (NACT) and Oklahoma Educators Association (OEA).

Rhonda loved scrapbooking and decorating every month with a different theme. Her favorite months were October and December. She loved attending OU football and basketball games. Rhonda always looked forward to spending time in Cocoa Beach each summer. Rhonda will be remembered for her love of teaching and dressing in her numerous costumes. She loved shopping, going to the movies and just being on the go. She brought joy and laughter to so many friends, colleagues, students and family, and will be missed by all.

Rhonda is survived by her husband Leslie Clements of Moore, son Justin and wife Anna of Crestview, FL. Parents Ronald and Estelle Evans of Norman, Sisters Paula Evans, Cocoa Beach, FL., Tammy Howell and husband Robert of Orlando FL., brother Tracy Evans and wife Patricia of Lucas TX., Mother-in-law, Ethel Clements of Moore, sister in law, Lisa Ray of Oklahoma City, brother in law, Rick Clements and wife Leann of Norman. Nephews Chad Howell of Orlando FL., Brett Howell and wife Katherine of Clermont FL., Nieces Alexandria Herndon and husband Thomas of Allen TX., Kathleen Scott and husband Trey of Norman OK., Shannon Leonard and husband Ken of Alpharetta GA., Jaden Ray of OKC, three great nieces, four great nephews, and her beloved dog, CoCo.

Visitation will be at Primrose Funeral Service from 6-8 PM, Thursday, February 23, 2023. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 24, 2023, at 2PM in the Primrose Chapel. Interment following at Norman IOOF Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Rhonda’s name to Hubbard Elementary, Noble Oklahoma.
